What is the 180 S.A.F.E. Ride?
|
The S.A.F.E. Ride for Survival is
an unprecedented and
unparalleled public education
and fund raising event geared
toward the ultimate goal of
further expansion of this
program into more high
schools and college
campuses. Traffic fatalities
are the number one killer of
teens, and for the firefighters
and paramedics who work
these tragedies everyday,
every opportunity to save a life
must be taken.
The S.A.F.E. Ride for Survival is a 12 day, 1100+ mile journey on bicycles
spanning the State of Florida from end to end, to take place in April 2006.
Six cyclists will ride through major metropolitan areas and college towns to
arrive at media events to explain their drive to stop Drunk Driving, encourage
seatbelt use, and to raise funds for the S.A.F.E. Program.
Funds gained in the campaign will be used by S.A.F.E. to bring the "Street
Smart" program to high schools and colleges throughout the State of Florida.
Young drivers who are exposed to this riveting program will be given the tools
and knowledge needed to make the right decisions to not drink and drive and to
always buckle-up.
